If you wish to hire the barn for a wedding celebration please contact Applewood Weddings. Woodhead Mountain rescue Team is run entirely by volunteers, in their own time. Despite our vast experience in rope rescue techniques and navigation in foul weather, we are not able to provide the service necessary for a ‘do it yourself’ type wedding celebration. Please accept our apologies.
The barn was renovated with training events in mind. There are ten tables and sixty chairs which can be configured in a number of different ways to suit the requirements of your event.
The presentation area has a raised platform. There is an audio visual system with an electric screen, overhead projector, speakers, flip-charts and pens etc. The barn has wifi, although because of our remote location the signal is very weak at only 0.5Mb. A much stronger signal of 12+Mb can be achieved wirelessly.
There is a small kitchen that, in addition larger catering requirements, can be used to provide tea, coffee and refreshments with a hot water boiler. There is sufficient cutlery and crockery for 60 guests.
The Barn has three well equipped bathrooms with showers, including one with disabled access.
Large glass barn doors from the training hall open out onto a walled outdoor area with a smaller decked area that can also be used for training events and functions. A field gate leads to a large camping field for use by our guests.
The Barn has its own separate kitchen area which can be used by anyone hiring the barn. The kitchen provides cooking facilities and a food preparation area. There is an extensive supply of crockery, pots and pans. The kitchen also has access to the main function area through a serving hatch.
